So far, I mostly compose intricately contrapuntal string quartet music
using mostly celtic melodies. I want to do more. I can play most woodwind
instruments, and I am interested in forming a primarily Chinese/Celtic
ensemble in which I would play mostly flutes and chinese mouth organ. I
can transcribe/transpose most western and chinese notation. Harmonization
and arrangement not a problem. I can tune your instrument and show you
the fingerings if necessary. I know this kind of music can work, because
I've seen it work before.

Christa
Burch is the lead vocalist and bodhran player for TamLyn, a hot new 8-piece
Alt-Celt band based out of Orange County, California. We like to say we
have "authenticity with insouciance," and our sound is an effusive mix
of the Ancient and the Modern, put through a cross-cultural blender to
encourage wild, ethnic dancing. For bookings or more information, see our
website at www.celticband.com, or call 949.552.1394. Christa also sings
with Kim Hughes in a more traditional duet called "Lintie," based out of
Sonoma, California. Information regarding Lintie can be found at www.lintie.com
or by callling 707.933.9774.

Performer: I play wooden flute and pennywhistle in a duo called "Dobhran."
August O'Connor, the other member of Dobhran, plays classical guitar, bodhran,
and bones (one at a time, of course!). We perform traditional and modern
Celtic music at restaurants, coffee houses, bookstores, and pubs, as well
as private gatherings such as weddings and dinners. Dobhran means "otter"
in gaelic, and we like to emphasize the graceful and playful nature of
our music, much of which originates in Ireland, Scotland, and Bretony.
We play out quite frequently in the Santa Cruz/Monterey/and San Francisco
Bay areas. For more information (including current bookings), please see
the web site above, or call 831-457-8804.
