Adapters Allows you tie in a practice chanter to a bagpipe bag in order to learn how to work with the bag. This adapter fits into the chanter stock to adapt a piper's present regular-sized or large-sized practice chanter bottom to the bagpipe, to give an inexpensive goose, after corking the drones or stocks. This allows the piper to practice at length without becoming winded, or young players to practice blowing before moving on to a regular bagpipe chanter and reed. Female end is 18 mm inside diameter. The length stated below is measured from the end of the mouthpiece to the top of the threaded section that goes into the stock of the bagpipe. (the threaded section is not included in the length). Which length should you get? There are personal preferences, but a rough guide according to your height would be: 5' 10" = 10 inch Airstream blowpipe 5' 9" = 9 inch Airstream blowpipe 5' 8" = 8 inch Airstream blowpipe You can cut down the mouth piece to get a shorter length. You might wish to choose one that is an inch shorter than what is above. A shorter blowpipe will raise the bag in your arm, and a longer blowpipe will lower the bag in your arm. It is personal preference what part of your arm you like to squeeze the bag with and where you want the length of the drones to fall on your shoulder. 8"

Bags: The canister, which is the major part of the entire system, is accessible via the air-tight zip fitted along the bottom seam of the bag. A reserve canister is supplied with each bag for quick change over situations. This can be done quickly by unzipping the bag, and exchanging the used canister with the spare, then rezipping the bag and continuing on with your playing. The granules are reusable indefinitely, by drying them out in a microwave oven for a few minutes. Through the use of the zipper, the bag can also be left open to dry out after long sessions of playing and particularly playing in cold and/or damp conditions. The bag is made of a woven nylon coated with a hydrophilic layer. The Ross bags and parts have a one year warranty from Ross Bagpipe Reeds, Ltd. If you need a case for your pipes with a Ross canister bag, several of our cases are large enough so that the tubing inside the canister will not be overly bent. Ross Zipper

| Cases for Uilleann PIpes For Uilleann Pipes, we suggest using only hard cases: Hard Shell
Highland Pipe Case Gun Case for double shotgun (you have to recut the foam to fit your full set or half set of pipes). This gives the most room for drones.A good size would be 52" long X 11" high X 4 " wide. Usually you can get cases like this during hunting season at stores like Wal Mart or out of hunting season at gun shops. If you have a half set, it usually fits easily. If you have regulators, you might want to clip away some of the foam interior inside the case. This can hold a half or full set, without needing to disassemble the instrument and having to take the reeds out of the drones. |
