Hello!
I am excited to move back to Utah and enjoy the musical possibilities in
this lovely city. My major instrument currently is the celtic harp,
but I also play and perform on piano, psaltery, and string bass.
I am experienced in playing harp for weddings, receptions, and corporate
events as well as playing prescriptive music at the bedside of the seriously
ill or dying patient. As a graduate of the Chalice of Repose School of
Music Thanatology, I spent three years studying and interning at Saint
Patrick Hospital to learn how to use music (harp and voice) as a compound
medicine in providing relief of pain, deep relaxation, comfort and unbinding
in the dying process.
I opened
my practice "harpsong" in Oregon in 1999 and have been very active in playing
both healing therapeutic music and wedding/event music. Also love
to play with others and would love to form a celtic group here in SLC,
or jam with others of like mind. You can contact me through my website.
I reside in downtown SLC, walking distance from the temple. Let me
know if you might be interested in lessons, purchasing/renting a harp,
wedding music (LDS receptions a specialty), or prescriptive music at the
bedside of a loved one. December 2006 UtahHarpist@yahoo.com
Harp.
I also play Dulcimers, recorders and bowed psaltery, and other instruments.
I make these as well. The music that I play is from early 14th century
to some classical to Folk. Irene Tukuafu 165 S. Main Payson, Utah 84651
